The grade-II listed Bodlondeb civic offices has played host to its first ever wedding.

Conwy couple Joanne Conway and Nicholas Gardener tied the knot at the venue on Saturday, November 17, which became licensed to hold marriages, civil ceremonies and private events earlier this year.

Joanne said: "“We were thrilled to be the first couple to be married at this beautiful venue with amazing views for our photographs."

The couple said the 140 year old building with its wide oak staircase, panelled doors, gothic fireplace, and original marble floor provided an ideal location for the nuptials.

The stunning interior was one of the main reasons for the couple choosing the venue to provide an atmospheric autumn wedding.

The use of Bodlondeb as a wedding venue is intended to raise income for Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) and provide opportunities for suppliers and businesses in the area to benefit from functions held there.

Bodlondeb can accommodate a variety of different packages for receptions and organisers will identify opportunities for hotels, restaurants, florists, bars and other wedding and function-related services in the area to provide services for events.

CCBC cabinet member for law, democracy and modernisation, Cllr Anne McCaffrey, said: "We registered Bodlondeb for weddings to help boost the economy of Conwy and for local suppliers to benefit. Bodlondeb is a lovely location and can now provide the right environment for a memorable wedding."
