DENBIGHSHIRE people who want to volunteer in their community and gain valuable experience can now find opportunities and build a CV online.

The Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council (DVSC), the Ruthin-based partner of Third Sector Support Wales, has enhanced its website with a new digital platform, InfoEngine, which will work as a directive for third sector services in Denbighshire.

The free platform, acting as a digital 'Yellow Pages' for the third sector, will allow voluntary groups and third sector organisations to list their events and opportunities.

The system - first introduced by Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations, DVSC's equivalent in Powys - in Denbighshire as InfoEngine goes Wales-wide.

Helen Wilkinson, chief executive officer of DVSC, said: “Like all great digital tools and platforms, InfoEngine is only as good as we make it. I want to urge all voluntary and community groups, third sector organisations and social enterprises in Denbighshire to register and list the full range of services on offer and to ask our public service partners in the county to promote it so that the public have the widest possible information and choice as possible.

"The more we engage, and work together in partnership, the more we raise the profile and awareness of third sector services among the public, professionals and public service partners and the more we can help promote and support wellbeing for all.”

InfoEngine adds to the DVSC's third sector network with its new DenbighshireVolunteers volunteering platform, which includes features for volunteers such as logging the hours they have worked and skills gained through volunteering, who can receive digital badges for serving 50, 100, 200 hours and more.

It will also allow prospective volunteers to find opportunities and organisations looking to recruit volunteers, which can found by searching for keywords or by distance from your home location.

To help the public and third sector organisations in using the digital platforms and to get information and opportunities online, DVSC is hosting a drop-in meeting between 9am and 12pm on Friday, December 7.

For more information on the digital platforms or the drop-in session, email volunteer@dvsc.co.uk or call 01824 702441.
