A burst water pipe which affected Flintshire residents has been repaired.

The Leader reported earlier this week how a burst water main on Wednesday night initially affected New Brighton Bryn y Baal, Mynydd Isa, Sychdyn and Soughton.

Engineers have since been working to repair the burst and last night Welsh Water confirmed supplies in Flint, Mold, Northop and Flint mountain were still being affected.

Shortly after 5pm today, a spokesman for the company said: "The burst water main has been fixed and our team are on site burying the pipe.

"Our main will need to be filled carefully and checks will need to be carried out on the network which may take until Monday to complete.

"Tankers will still be used throughout the weekend to put water into our pipes and keep our customers in supply.

"Our free bottled water station is still available at Tesco carpark in Mold until 10pm.

"Thank you for continuing to bear with us."
