A FORMER Premier League footballer was the special guest at a fundraiser in Llangollen on Saturday night.
Neville Southall, most notable for his 17-year-spell as Everton's goalkeeper, made an appearance at the International Pavilion during an event to help raise money for Llangollen Town FC and Corwen FC.
The 60-year-old, who was born in Llandudno and also earned 92 caps for Wales, joined comedian Mark Langley and Britpop band Marblehead Johnson for a night of entertainment and laughter.
A spokesperson for Llangollen Town FC said: "Thank you to everyone who attended on Saturday night.
"Neville Southall was a real gent who gave a great insight into his life. Mark Langley had the room in stitches with impersonation's and Marblehead Johnson brought the house down."
Corwen FC officials said that the money raised on the night "would go a long way to supporting both clubs."
