AN APPEAL for information in relation to a missing 51-year-old man has been renewed after police found his car burnt out on Denbigh Moors.

John Hawkins, who is missing from Lymm in Warrington, was last seen driving his black Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 4x4 car in Bala at around 1pm on Wednesday, December 12, but his vehicle has since been found burnt out on the moors near to Bylchau.

Mr Hawkins is described as being white, about 6ft 2 inches tall, and of medium build. He has brown hair, brown eyes and is believed to be wearing blue and white Adidas trainers, dirty dark blue jeans, a dark coloured Superdry hoody with a blue logo on the front. He may also be wearing a black Trespass wax jacket with a thin silver trim on the chest and a black New York Yankees cap with a frayed peak.

Police are urging anyone who sees Mr Hawkins or has any information regarding his whereabouts to get in touch.

Inspector James Keene of North Wales Police said: “Specialists have undertaken an extensive search near where John’s vehicle was found, but currently John has not been located.”

“We are concerned for his welfare and the search for John remains ongoing. We are appealing to John himself or anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact us.”
