TWO rugby stalwarts have been honoured in the Vale of Clwyd.

Last Saturday, Clwb Rygbi Dinbych recognised and celebrated the outstanding contribution of Terry Bryer and Jeff Jenkins over many years.

Both are sons of Carmarthenshire and although neither individual is the biggest in terms of physical stature, the duo are giants in the history of the club.

In recognition of Jenkins' outstanding contribution to Dinbych, the clubhouse at Caeau Les Phillips will now be known as Ty Clwb Jeff Jenkins Clubhouse.

Meanwhile, in recognition of Bryer’s contribution over the years, the first team pitch at the ground will now be known as Maes Terry Bryer Pitch.

Bryer became a member of the club in 1981 and has been a committee member for the past 37 years.

He was the club chairman between 2004 and 2015.

Jenkins was a founder member of the club in 1977 and he has been integrally involved ever since.

He has enjoyed two stints as Dinbych chairman, including a spell between 1986 and 2004, while he was the president between 1980 and 1983.
