A WORKSHOP to help the public to become more aware of the challenges autistic people face on a daily basis, as well as the on-going projects to improve their lives across Denbighshire, will be held in Llangollen.
The Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council (DVSC), the Ruthin-based partner of Third Sector Support Wales, will run the free session to improve people's understanding of autism, which affects about 700,000 people in the UK.
The workshop is part of DVSC's 'Autism Aware' campaign launched in October
Last month the third sector service granted £10,000 to six community projects in Denbighshire that support adults with the condition.
The session will aim to teach attendees how to:
- Improve their personal understanding of autism
- Make their business more aware of autism in the workplace
- Find digital resources for learning about autism
It will also discuss the autism groups backed by the DVSC.
The workshop will take place at St Collen's Church, Llangollen, from 10.30am to 2pm on Thursday, January 24.
