STROKE survivors will have a chance to express themselves during art therapy sessions.

Seven weeks of art therapy will be on offer for stroke patients in Abergele. These will be held every Friday morning between 10am and 11.30am and will start on Friday, January 25 at Itaca, Hesketh House on Bridge Street.

Colin Evans, volunteering and community steps officer at the Stroke Association, said: "Working with a trained, experienced therapist, participants will be able to express their feelings using art materials.

"It offers an opportunity to express concerns in a safe and confidential environment. Sessions provide a time to reflect, relax, think without having to talk, reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, provide a means of expression when words are hard to find and explore feelings of isolation, loss and change."

The sessions are free to participants. An exhibition of all work will take place in the summer.
