CHILDREN at the Corwen Day Nursery have been thanked for their help with the armed forces.

The nursery children writes and sends goodie boxes to troops on deployment as an act of kindness.

The parcels are seen as a valuable contribution in boosting and maintaining morale amongst those on overseas duties and are much appreciated by members of our armed forces.

In the past, the children loved receiving a visit from the Welsh Guards, who were there to thank the nursery for the goodie boxes that are sent throughout the year.

In the past few weeks, the children have received letters from two soldiers serving in Afghanistan who received a couple of the goody boxes that were sent at the end of November.

"The children and staff were touched that they took the time to write to us to thank us and were pleased that the parcels lifted their morale," said Corwen Day Nursery owner Carmen Roberts Davenport.
