A DENBIGH PE department is celebrating after two of its pupils have qualified for the Welsh Cross County Championships next month.
Five pupils at St Brigid's School, Denbigh, braved the January weather to take part in the North East Wales Cross Country Championships at Alun School in Mold on January 16, in which more than 200 pupils from across Denbighshire, Conwy, Wrexham and Flintshire raced against their year group to the finish line.
Faye and Luke (pictured) finished 3rd and 4th respectively in their events and will take part in the national event in Brecon in February.
Mr Bennett, PE teacher and curriculum leader, said: "We are very proud of all our runners in both the Denbighshire and North East Wales events, especially Faye and Luke who are in continuous training for their distance events and are looking forward to the next round of competition."
