THE A55 has been reopened heading East following a vehicle fire on Wednesday morning.

A motorist has been taken to hospital following the incident, involving five cars near junction 24 at Abergele.

After being closed for about two hours, the road was reopened at about 10.45am.

Delays were caused as fire crews from Rhyl and Abergele worked to clean up a diesel spillage, as well as ensuring the engine compartments of the vehicles safe, following the incident.
