GYMNASTS at a Denbigh school have qualified for the national Urdd school gymnastics finals.
Pupils from St Brigid’s School’s School competed at the regional Urdd Denbigh Gymnastics competition held at Denbigh High School.
The pupils, from the school’s primary and secondary year groups, brought together ideas from their out of school gymnastics clubs and PE lessons and developed their routines with teachers ahead of the event on January 22.
Evie Connor and Madeline O'Brien won the girls' paired floor exercise while Ieuan Dawson and Sydney Robinson came 2nd and 3rd in the boys' individual routines.
Mr Bennett, head of PE, expressed his pride after the pupils’ hard work. He said: “All the pupils put in a lot of practise in the build up to these events, using their spare time to develop their routines and prepare for the performances.”
The Urdd National Gymnastics competition will be held in Aberystwyth on February 12-13.
