A SCHOOL in rural Denbigshire has been forced to close due to snow.
Ysgol Dyffryn Iâl in Llandegla-yn-Iâl, near Ruthin, was forced to close following adverse weather on Tuesday as the gritters hit the roads and Met Office warnings remained in place.
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "Gritters are out and about treating the county roads. They will continue to work throughout the evening and overnight.
"Weather warnings are still in place until lunch time on Wednesday, we would encourage people to keep and eye on the forecast and heed any advice issued by authorities."
"Any details about further school closure will be place on the council's website, and schools will also contact parents if their children are affected."
The spokesperson added: "We'd also ask people to keep an eye on the elderly, friends, neighbours and relatives in the cold weather, to ensure their safety and wellbeing."
Information on any emergency school closures can be found at denbighshire.gov.uk.
