SOME of the world’s most infamous villains and much-desired Bond girls will attend a charity ball to raise funds for cancer treatment at a Denbighshire hospital.

The James Bond themed ball and auction, named Skyball in a nod to the most recent Bond film Skyfall, will be staged at Wigfair Hall in St Asaph by six former Denbigh High School pals whose close friend Kate Jackson, from Tremierchion, received “amazing” treatment at Glan Clwyd Hospital’s (GCH) Cancer Centre after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The group of friends, Erin, Lynsey, Teri, Leanne, Cathy and Charlotte, as well as Kate are now on a mission to raise funds for the North Wales Cancer Appeal, the charity dedicated to the GCH Cancer Centre.

Erin said: “We are a group of seven close friends who are approaching 40 this year. We have witnessed first-hand the amazing work of the centre when one of our group, Kate – and also others close to us – a young mum of three beautiful girls was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and underwent treatment at the centre.

“She has inspired us as a group to come together and do something we've never done before and host a ball to raise funds and give something back to the centre. Kate for us is truly inspirational and we are in awe of her strength through this difficult year.

“We are stepping out of our comfort zone and organising what we hope will be an amazing night and raising funds for this cause close to our hearts.”

The ball and auction will take place at Wigfair Hall from 6pm on April 6
