FROM scoring tries to packing bags.

That was the tale of the weekend for young Ruthin rugby players.

Ruthin's mini and junior section had no games over the weekend due to the wintry weather.

However, there was still plenty of the Blues to do.

Ruthin U-12s we’re blown away by the generosity of their local community on Saturday after carrying out a fundraising ‘bag pack’ at Tesco Ruthin towards their end of season tour to South Wales.

The fantastic venture raised over £1,000.

Ruthin U-12s manager Ali Horrocks said: "It was great to see our team engaging with the community this way helping pack bags and having the opportunity to talk to people about the sport they love so much.

"We were also very lucky to have a great group of parents / supporters to help out on the day too.

"We had so many fantastic compliments about the boys' behaviour, manners and bag packing skills!"

Ruthin U-12s would like to say a big thank-you to the community for donating and to Tesco Ruthin for the opportunity to raise funds.
