DO YOU know a do-gooder who quietly goes about their deeds without expecting any favours in return? Or a community group that gathered to help people in a time of need? Or perhaps a teenager who set an outstanding example of hard-work and dedication to their peers?

Ruthin Town Council is accepting nominations for its Citizen of the Year, Young Person of the Year and Group of the Year 2019 awards.

Launched by town councillor Anne Roberts five years ago, the awards aim to raise awareness of the efforts of residents, community groups and young people in Ruthin schools and motivate others to get involved.

Award nominees are selected by the public and the winner is decided by the town council.

Cllr Roberts said: "The awards are about recognising the contributions and great work by people in Ruthin.

"There are lots of hard-working individuals and dedicated groups out there and we want to hear the public's nominations."

Winners receive a certificate, framed picture and £100 prize to be donated to a charity of their choice.

Nominations can be submitted to Sandra Williams, town council clerk by calling 01824 703797 or by emailing clerk@ruthintowncouncil.gov.uk.
