A REARRANGED recital is set to be held in a Vale of Clwyd church.

Bad weather at the end of January forced organisers to cancel the appearance of harpist Dylan Cernyw at St Dyfnog's Church, in Llanrhaeadr.

Dylan will now be appearing at the venue next Wednesday, February 20 (7pm).

Having won many prestigious awards at festivals and events throughout Wales, Dylan has also travelled abroad as a harp soloist and accompanist, appearing and broadcasting on the BBC and other television networks.

Originally from Llandudno, he now resides in Colwyn Bay and was educated at Ysgol Y Creuddyn School in Llandudno.

He received tuition from many recognised harp tutors in Wales – Gwennant Pyrs, Dafydd Huw and Robin James Jones.

Dylan won at the National Eisteddfod in 1989, 1991 and 1994 and he was also a winner at the Cerdd Dant Festival in 1992.

He is a well known accompanist in Wales and is always on demand at different festivals and events.

Dylan is the resident harpist for Bodnant Gardens, the Imperial Hotel in Llandudno and at Plas Tan y Bwlch, Maentwrog.

A well known concert entertainer in Wales and further afield, he has also travelled abroad, playing in France, Germany, Holland, Canada, Prague, Switzerland, Paris and Ireland as a harp soloist and accompanist.

Dylan has appeared in the 1,000 Voices Festival at the Royal Albert Hall, where he was a guest soloist in 1997 and shared a platform with soprano Rebecca Evans.

Other soloists with whom he has accompanied and shared platforms are Bryn Terfel, Eirian James, Shân Cothi, Gwyn Hughes-Jones, Rhys Meirion, John Eifion and Annette Bryn-Parry to name just a few.

He has released three albums with Sain, the most recent of which was titled ‘Cartref’.

Dylan has also accompanied soprano singer Kathryn Jenkins and X Factor star Rhydian Roberts at concerts around the UK.

He also travelled to Shaoxing, China with Ysgol Glanaethwy, who were competing in the World Choir Olympics.

Dylan sang with the senior choir and accompanied the youth choir on the harp.

He has also worked on two albums of film themes as projects in collaboration with Sain and Sunrise Music.

Tickets for the St Dyfnog's Church performance are £5 on the door, which includes refreshments in the nave afterwards.

The recital will last about an hour and there will be a chance to chat to Dylan and ask questions.
