CRACKING COBRA clashes were features of the weekend for junior Ruthin players.
The weather held out for Ruthin U-7s' trip to COBRA (Caereinion Old Boys Rugby Association).
There was a great effort from all of the youngsters, who did a great job of passing, support and running, but most of all getting back in line.
Ruthin eventually won 13-12.
Ruthin U-8s also travelled to COBRA and they rewarded their spectators with an all-action display of end-to-end rugby.
The Blues looked dangerous with ball in hand, with some good link-up play between the players.
They also showed good improvement in defence, achieving several turnovers.
Despite Ruthin’s excellent all-round efforts, COBRA scored some fine individual tries to seal a 10-7 win.
Ruthin U-12s played some great rugby in their matches versus strong COBRA and Mold teams.
The top Blues' player was Gruff Jones.
