A LEADING IT specialist based in St Asaph has been selected to provide the hi-tech cabling solution for a new £23million school in North Wales.

Pinacl GDA has been chosen to supply, install and commission the structured cabling for Christ the Word Catholic School in Rhyl.

The school, which is set to open its doors in September, will accommodate 420 pupils aged 3-11 and 500 pupils aged 11-16.

The project is being funded in partnership by Denbighshire County Council and the Welsh Government as part of the 21st Century Schools Programme.

Pinacl GDA, whose head offices are based in St. Asaph, has grown into a global company providing a range of strategic IT solutions for clients including some of the world’s largest banks and defence contractors.

The Rhyl project will see them working in partnership with building services giant Lorne Stewart to deliver the structured cabling design based on Excel structured cabling including copper cabling, fibre, voice cabling and server and network cabling cabinets.

Chris Wood, Pinacl GDA’s Sales Director, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected to supply and install the cabling solution for this prestigious new school.

“Many of our projects are global in scale, but it is great to be able to play a part in helping to deliver a local project which will provide state-of-the-art school facilities for children for many years to come.”

So far, over £90million has been invested in Denbighshire in the first phase of the 21st Century Schools Programme either replacing or refurbishing schools, benefitting more than 3,500 children.

Pinacl GDA’s core services include structured cabling, premium Wi-Fi, software solutions, resource provision and Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart City enablement.

Chris added: “We aim to take the complexity out of largescale IT projects, providing specialised solutions that directly meet our customers’ needs.
