SPRING arrived early for members during week 18 of Denbigh Golf Club's winter league.

The winner was Nigel Roxburgh with an excellent score of 42 points off his handicap of five.

Don Walmsley also carded a superb 42 points, but he missed out on a back nine countback and had to settle for winning the bronze division instead.

First in the silver division was the consistent Gerald Parry with 40 points, just a point ahead of Andy McColl, who had the compensation of finding himself up to fifth position in the overall standings. Second in the Bronze Division was Ian Hession with a fine score of 41 points.

Just missing out on the prizes, but worthy of a mention, were Jac Roberts and Steve Callan, who both recorded 40 points.

Things remain tight at the top, where Mr consistency Llew Davies (78 points) has edged ahead of Marc Shaw (77) by the smallest of margins.

Meanwhile, Eifion Lloyd-Jones has ominously moved up to third place with 68 points, a point ahead of Darren Foulkes.

Andy McColl and George Williams are joint-fifth on 64 points.
