THEY were muddy marvels over the weekend.

Ruthin U-7s had a great game at Dinbych on Sunday.

The rain fell and the kids got very muddy, but they did a great job of keeping their focus on the game and running with the ball in two hands.

They also showed skills of great team work, with passing and defence, plus getting back on side.

In a close game, Ruthin won 17-14.

Ruthin U-8s took two teams to Bethesda.

Despite the cold and wet conditions, Ruthin were determined to continue with their preferred running rugby style of play.

With the ball being passed through several pairs of hands at each phase, everyone played their part in an entertaining encounter.

Bethesda were able to outscore the visitors by 10 tries to seven with some strong individual performances, but Ruthin can be very proud of their team effort.

Ruthin U-12s paid a visit to a strong and capable Hoylake.

With only 12 players available, Ruthin showed great stamina and skill throughout to win 9-5.

Will K and Raif were the players of the match.
