A MAN of 35 who was stopped by police at 11am at the wheel of a Mini Cooper had more than three times the permitted amount of alcohol in his system, magistrates were told on Friday.

Anouska Youds, prosecuting at Llandudno, said the alcohol count in breath was 113, the limit being 35.

He’d been stopped at Kinmel Bay on February 22.

Trevor Roger Jones of Oakville Avenue, Rhyl, had said he was on his way to a job interview and had been drinking the night before.

He was banned from driving for two years and given a year’s community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and a six months alcohol treatment requirement.

He must pay £170 costs
