A TRACTOR run will take over Ruthin for a weekend this summer.

The Clwyd 2020 Tractor Run will be held at the Ruthin Livestock Auction on May 24-26 as part of the Clwyd Country Fair.

Owners of the trusty big-wheeled machines are being invited to join the rolling exhibition in the morning, which will be followed by a food and craft fair, car boot sale, alpaca shearing and speed shearing competitions and cooking demonstrations, as well as a dog show judged by a Crufts representative.

The Clwyd County Fair aims to raise funds for the Royal Welsh Show, which has honoured Clwyd as its Feature County for 2020 - giving it responsibility for fundraising ahead of its main event in Built Wells on July 20-23.

Lowri Lloyd Williams, a farmer's daughter from Ruthin, was chosen in January as the ambassador for Clwyd and she is leading the organisation of fundraising events.

The tractors will be onsite at the auction from 9am for a 10am start on Saturday.

Night time events include Noson Lawen on the Friday and Mic ar y Meic on the Saturday.

The entry fee for the tractor run is £10 and there is no minimum age requirement for tractors involved. Entry Fee includes a breakfast bap and commemorative glass.
