A QUIZ night in Denbigh has helped find the answer to supporting people diagnosed with cancer in North Wales after raising more than £1,000 for charity.

The quiz at Plas Pigot, Denbigh, was attended by more than one hundred people in aid of Jill Wilcox-Jones, from Nantglyn, who died in 2016 after post-stem cell transplant complications.

A total of £1,300 was raised at the event, organised by Llanrhaeadryng-Nghinmeirch councillor Joe Welch and Denbigh councillor Mark Young, who will donate the funds to the Anthony Nolan charity.

Cllr Mark Young said: “Cllr Joe Welch and myself came up with the idea and we thought we would get a small response, but it grew and grew. £1,300 is a fantastic amount to have raised.

“This is an example of the community coming together and showing what we can achieve.”
