RUTHIN primary school pupils were among the guests of honour as one of the town's most popular shops relaunched following an extensive makeover.
The Co-op store on Station Road, Ruthin re-launched following a £1million overhaul, enhancing its range of services to the community
The store has brought a funding boost to many Ruthin causes through Co-op’s membership scheme, which sees members receive a five per cent reward if they swipe their club card when buying own-brand products. The community retailer then donates a further 1 per cent to local causes.

Students across North Wales holding the NUS Extra (TOTUM) card also receive a 10 per cent discount off their groceries to support them during their studies
Chris Mottershead, Co-op store manager, said: “We have had a fantastic response, the store has a great new look - we would also like to thank our customers for their understanding during the extensive programmes of work, and we now look forward to welcoming them into the new-look store now that the works have concluded.
"We are confident that the changes will enable us to better serve the needs of our local community. It’s all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently."
