A POSITIVELY medieval take on Easter celebrations is set to sweep Denbigh castle.

On Saturday, April 20 and Sunday 21, from 10 am until 4pm, the castle will host the Medieval Easter Egg-stravaganza.

Organised by Cadw, children will be transported back in time with a range of egg-citing events with a multitude of historic displays an activities that will take them all throughout the castles grounds over the two days.

Activities for children will include an Easter Egg hunt with a golden Easter egg prize, Easter craft making and the chance to have a photograph with the Denbigh Easter Bunny.

More medieval fair will feature the Princes Retinue re-enactment society demonstrating medieval combat, living history and have-a-go archery as well as a chance to try and pelt the ‘Knight in the Stocks’ with wet sponges.

Admission is £4.20 for adults, £2.50 for children, £3.40 for seniors and £12.20 for families of two adults and up to three children under 16. Entry is free for people with disabilities and their carers or companions.
