Trefnant

A ROCKING good night was successful in raising money for two vital North Wales causes.

Gwynfor Evans, from Ruthin, celebrated his 70th birthday with a party at Trefnant Village Hall.

The event was organised by his wife Betty and the event was a party rock night.

Money from the party went to St Kentigern Hospice and Cuddles, the charity supporting the special care baby unit (SCBU) at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

"We gave money to St Kentigern because it's very touching and because I have had cancer," said Betty Evans.

"We gave to Cuddles... because our grandson was born prematurely.

"Thank-you to everyone who came to the party.

"We had 140 people there."

Almost £1,300 was raised, with £630 being donated to both charities.
