A BALA rugby player is international class.
Mali Elen Jones, a year 11 pupil from Ysgol y Berwyn in Bala, has been chosen for the Wales women's U-18s' emerging squad.
Mali plays for the school team, who have won the 10-a-side competition in the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and the U-18 Doddie Weir Cup.
With the aid of Euros Jones, the school's rugby coordinator, she was chosen to represent the U-18 RGC squad, where she was spotted by Welsh women's coach Roland Phillips.
Mali will travel to Cardiff regularly to take part in various skills and fitness tests, before the final squad is revealed.
