IT'S the end of an era for a Denbighshire drama group.

Over 30 years ago, Marjorie Wilson cajoled, bullied and encouraged complete novices to get on stage and the Nantglyn Drama Group was born.

Going from strength to strength, the group put on pantomimes, reviews and plays.

During that time, funds raised have supported many local charities. Possibly more importantly, the community was entertained and enthusiastically joined in the productions.

Children who took part over the years have gained confidence to spread their wings and go on even to working in West End theatres.

More recently, founding members have moved away from Nantglyn and have recognised that they are no longer able to commit to an annual production.

Sadly, this year they have reluctantly decided that the group should come to an end.

This is not the end of drama in Nantglyn, though!

A new group has been created under the umbrella of the Nantglyn Rural Activities Group.

The group has happily accepted the offer of the stage, equipment, costumes and a small financial donation to set them on their way. All remaining funds have been donated to local charities as required by the group’s constitution.

Nantglyn Drama Group would like to thank everybody for their continued support over the years.
