GET into the stride in a picturesque setting in early May.

The Rhyl and St Asaph Anglers control 20 miles of excellent river fishing in Denbighshire.

To assist new and existing members, and also for anyone thinking of joining the association, the river keeper is leading a series of river beat walks.

These start on Saturday, May 4 (2pm) at the Pont y Ddol beat on the river Elwy.

Further walks are planned on different beats each Saturday in May. Suitable clothing and a drink / snack is advised for participants.

So that the numbers of people attending can be planned, people wishing to register their interest can so by contacting John Davidson on 07966 162326 / jejhaulage@googlemail.com or Chris Porteous on 07970 216533.

Also of interest to prospective members, a fishing seminar will take place at the Oriel Hotel, in St Asaph, on the evening of May 9.

This event will include expert talks on sea trout fishing in the local rivers and grayling fishing in the River Dee, followed by a question-and-answer session and a used tackle sale.

The cost is £5, including coffee and biscuits.

People can register for this event by calling association chairman Chris Porteous on 07970 216533.
