A BALA sportswoman has made her mark by grabbing the winning score in a fierce international clash.
Mali Elen Jones, a year 11 pupil from Ysgol y Berwyn in Bala, was chosen for the Wales women's U-18s emerging squad.
In a tough encounter, she gained her first cap at the Principality Stadium in a match against England U-18s.
Not only did Wales come out on top by a 28-22 margin, Mali scored the winning try for the Welsh team.
Mali plays for the Ysgol y Berwyn team and with the aid of Euros Jones, the school's rugby coordinator, she was chosen to represent the U-18 RGC squad.
While playing for RGC, she was spotted by the Welsh women's coach Roland Phillips.
