STAFF at the South Denbighshire Community Partnership (SDCP) are celebrating after it was crowned ‘Welsh Rural Enterprise of the Year’ at the Countryside Alliance Awards.

The business, based at the Canolfan Ni Centre in Corwen, was handed the prize at the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay on May 1.

The SDCP were commended by judges for the “fantastic” and “inspirational” work the team are carrying out within their community.

Staff will now head to the House of Lords in June for the Countryside Alliance countrywide grand finals.

Community engagement and development manager Sally Lloyd Davies said that she and chief officer Margaret Sutherland are “still on cloud nine” following the win.

“We are still emotional but most of all we are extremely proud of this achievement by the staff, volunteers and community. Everything we do is a team effort.

“We thank those who nominated us, from the wider community to our service users, trustees, volunteers and staff. Without their dedication, these achievements would not be possible ‘’
