A DOORSTEP crime and scam awareness workshop will be held in Ruthin this month.

Ways to make your home more secure and tackle bogus callers are among the topics that will be discussed by OWL Cymru, the community safety and crime prevention charity for North East Wales.

The workshop is for people of all ages who are concerned about their safety at home or when out and about.

The charity will also talk about distraction burglaries and rogue traders.

Last year, Owl Cymru launched its community crime text alert system which informs residents about incidents such as bogus, cold calling and rogue traders that occur in their area.

The workshop will be held at St Peter's Church at 2pm-3.30pm on Thursday, May 30.

Reverend Stuart Evans, of St Peter's Church, will also be in attendance.
