ABOUT 150 horses and their riders are set to enjoy a riverside gallop and mountain-top views next bank holiday Sunday.
Riders from across North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral are expected to join the Llannefydd Fun Ride, organised annually by parents and landowners from the Ysgol Llannefydd school community for two decades.
The 10-mile route starts in Cefn Meiriadog, south-west of St Asaph, and travelling south-west past Bont Newydd, along the River Elwy and up to Gaer Mountain in Llaneffydd, with sweeping 360 views of the Aled Valley and Clwydian Range. It then descends past Llyn Plas Uchaf and returns along the opposite side of the river, through fields and woodland to Cefn Meiriadog.
All funds raised will be donated to the school, which could boost its provision of arts and sports activities.
The fun ride takes place on Sunday, May 26. Riders are welcome to start the route at a time of their choice between 10am-1.30pm.
Entry costs £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s.
