Cumbria’s youth will strike once again tomorrow.
Young people across the county are being urged to take the day off school to protest inaction over the climate crisis.
Since the strike wave took hold of the world in March, youth strikes for climate have taken place in towns and cities across the country.
Ada Wood, organiser of the Carlisle youth strike tomorrow, is encouraging young people to wear black at the strike outside the county council Offices on Botchergate between 1pm and 3pm.
Ada said: “As part of this international day of action we’re being silent for climate. We’ve tried writing letters. We’ve tried emailing.
“We’ve tried shouting through a megaphone but it’s not working so we’re going be silent and see if people in power will listen to that.
“We are mourning our future.”
Students in Cockermouth will be striking on Main Street between 9am and 12pm.
