DEE Valley racers have enjoyed another fine weekend.

Recently, four members of the Llangollen-based Run Free fell and trail running club took part in the popular Ras Y Gader.

Rachel Sherwen came in as the first vet 50 racer - and the 14th lady overall - in a time of two hours, 10 minutes and nine seconds.

Meanwhile, Alan French was the sixth vet 60 finisher (135th male) in 2-16.08.

Crossing the line in 144th position was vet 50 competitor Neil McAndrew thanks to his time of 2-18.36.

Emma Cornes completed the course as the 30th lady overall in 2-27.44.

On the Sunday, Howard Jones competed in the Clun Valley Challenge Marathon race, which had 3,800 feet of ascent.

He crossed the line in five hours and 49 minutes.

At Run Wales’ Snowdonia Half Marathon, Paul Sidwells came home in 26th place overall and fifth in his age category.

He completed the course in an amazing time of one hour, 37 minutes and 12 seconds.

In the field of 663, Heather Jones was 20th in her age category and 450th overall in 2-24.29.

Over at the Chester Half Marathon, Philippa Capstick and Paul Holland crossed the finishing line together in a time of 2-54.11.
