PUPILS are being invited to create a dragon using recyclable material to mark Prestatyn Flower Show's 25th year.

The event will be held on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.

The show is always preceded by the launch of competition allowing younger members of the community to get involved.

Pauline Mylchreest, organiser, said: "The dragon must in some way reflect the fact that the flower show celebrates it's 25th year.

"Responses have been received from Bodnant Community School, Ysgol Clawdd Offa, Ysgol Melyd and Ysgol Y Llys."

Judging will take place this month and winners will receive their prizes in early July.

There are some additions to this year's schedule for Prestatyn Flower Show including 'Star Baker' and allotment competitions as well as many other classes to interest and challenge.

Anyone wanting to enter any of the classes/competitions can ask for a schedule at Bon, 121 High Street, Prestatyn. Alternatively visit

The two-day event also features exhibits, plants and garden furniture for sale, classic car displays, refreshments, live jazz and brass band music.
