A FLINTSHIRE village is gearing up with its annual summer carnival which takes place this weekend.
The Penyffordd and Penymynydd Carnival takes place on June 15, promises to be a joyous occasion once again.
The carnival will kick off with a parade through the village by Batala Bangor, a samba/reggae drumming band at 12.30pm, starting from the Red Lion pub.
From 1pm onwards, the carnival itself will be open, which will take place on the Penyffordd War Memorial Institute field.
A funfair, bar, food and refreshments, stalls, games and choir performances all being a sample of what will be on offer.
Admission to the carnival is priced at £2 for adults and £1 for children, with all proceeds going to the upkeep of the Institute building.
To avoid queing on the day, you can by entry wristbands in advance from SPAR Penyffordd, Jemoleys cafe and the Red Lion and Millstone pubs.
