SAINTS boss Justin Holbrook expects England Academy prodigy Jack Welsby to learn more than most from Sunday’s defeat.
The 18-year-old, who has shone in all his senior appearances to date, lost the ball for the first London try and then failed to ground, despite his protestations, for the last one in a tough game.
But there were more experienced players across the board sharing the burden for the Golden Point loss, and Holbrook sees the match as all part of a learning curve.
And the Saints boss expects Welsby, who was deputising for Lachlan Coote, to bounce back stronger.
Holbrook said: “He is fine and he is only 18.
“He will get the most learning out of all 34 players who played.
“That is a good thing for his development.
“Jack is a great young player with a massive future at the club and in the game of rugby league, but he will learn from it.
“The hard thing is we did not get the two points.
“There have been times this year where we have not played well, learned a lot, but still got the points.”
