A BUS route is to be affected due to the Gresford roundabout resurfacing.

The Leader reported previously that Gresford roundabout is to be resurfaced starting at the end of this month which will cause some disruption to the Arriva Wales No 1 service from Wrexham to Chester and return journey.

Wrexham Council have now announced on their website that Arriva Buses Wales has let them know what arrangements it has put in place during these works:

“As from 20.00 hours on Friday, June 28 until 06.00 hours on Monday, July 1 and from 20.00 hours on Friday, July 5 until 06.00 hours on Monday July 8, Gresford Roundabout will be closed.

“Buses from Wrexham Bus Station to Chester will travel via Mold Road, A483, Rossett and then continue the normal route to Chester.

“Buses from Chester to Wrexham will travel the normal route to Rossett then divert via A483 to Mold Road and onto Wrexham Bus Station.”

Work to resurface the Gresford roundabout will begin on June 28 and will take place overnight for two weekends.

In order to make sure the works go ahead as planned, on time and safely, the roundabout will be closed whilst the works take place between 8pm and 6am.

Access to businesses within Pandy Industrial Estate and Gresford Industrial Estate will be available at all times from the B5425 Llay Road via Pandy Lane and Bluebell Lane.

An alternative route to Wrexham Industrial Estate and HMP Berwyn will be signed via Junction 1 off the A483 Trunk Road.
