AN OWNER of a quirky museum in Worcestershire is calling for help from north Walian people to add to his collection.

Milk bottle enthusiast Steve Wheeler turned his Malvern home into a glass milk bottle museum, made up of some 20,000 bottles.

But North Wales is a rare corner of the UK from which Steve does not have milk bottles from, and he is appealing for some to be sent to him to add to his collection.

He said: "I have a 'milk bottle museum' here in Malvern of some 17,500 British milk bottles and about 3,000 from overseas, but although I have some from North Wales, they are few and far between and are in very poor condition.

"There must be many places that had dairies and I have missed their milk bottles.

"They are usually found in old farms and dairies, under sink cupboards, lofts, sheds , allotments, electricians even find me milk bottles under floorboards when rewiring houses.

"If anybody has any old milk bottles or cardboard caps, please don't throw them away."

The museum – a workshop in Steve’s garden – is now crammed with 14-and-a-half tonnes of glass.

And Steve is travelling to North Wales at the end of the month and can call into anyone who has milk bottles, or information on where to get them.
