FOLLOWING on from the success of last year, a charity football match will once more be taking place in 2019.

On Sunday, August 25, there will be a past and present charity football match connected with Trefnant FC.

On a sweltering day, last year's match and occasion proved to be memorable and successful.

Around 26 players turn out with a good mixture of ages, from 18 all the way up to 61.

Over £1,000 was raised for the Children in Cancer UK charity.

Players interested in taking part this year are asked to meet at 1.45pm on August 25, with the match kicking off at 3pm.

Martin Fearnley is one of the organisers and he said: "We are looking for willing players of all ages to participate (mixed age group teams), enthusiastic supporters and sponsors to get involved to make this event as successful as possible."

Post-match refreshments and food will be available in Trefnant Village Hall at around 5pm, while further attractions include a family bingo, a children's sponsored walk, a raffle / auction, live music and a disco.
