Corwen Day Nursery

CORWEN Day Nursery is celebrating after picking up the runner-up accolade in the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)’s Nursery of the Year - Wales award.

Broadcaster Katie Thistleton announced the achievement at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire on June 28.

Corwen Day Nursery owner Carmen Roberts Davenport said: “We are delighted that a small rural nursery from North Wales has been recognised for all the work that we do, not only with the children but with parents and the community too.

"Members of my team and I had a fantastic time at the ceremony and it was great to learn from and share practice with other nurseries whom are as passionate as us in delivering high quality care.”

NDNA chief executive Purina Tanuku, who was at the awards ceremony, said: “A huge well done to Carmen and her team.

"This is a fantastic achievement for them.

"They should be extremely proud of their amazing and hard work in the early year’s sector and all that they do in the community and supporting young children.

"This year’s awards have seen 190 applications and just under 6,500 votes.”
