A WOMAN from Rhyl will be raising money for a charity “very close to her heart” by walking more than five miles at the end of this month.

On July 28, Lisa Richardson will join a group of 20 friends as they walk from Foryd Bridge in Rhyl to the Golf Club in Prestatyn in aid of the Miscarriage Association.

Lisa says the charity and the date of which the walk will take place, both bare a great importance to her and her family.

After giving birth to her daughter Alysa six years ago, Lisa has had three angel babies - a term given to an infant who passes away during pregnancy or soon after birth.

"We chose July 28 as it represents the due date of our third baby we lost," Lisa said.

"I wanted to do something to honour and remember this, as well as be able to help others."

In July 2016, Lisa fell pregnant but lost the baby after just eight weeks. Then in January 2017, she experienced another miscarriage after just three weeks of her pregnancy.

The third blow came on November 15 of last year when, after initially getting those two lines on the pregnancy test, Lisa suffered another miscarriage just weeks later.

"That pain and feeling will never go away," she said.

"I was on an emotional rollercoaster an dafter my last miscarriage, my hope and happiness again turned into tears. I kept asking myself why me? why us? my heart was broken yet again.

"I was left broken and shattered, but during the next few months after my latest miscarriage, I was took on a journey of personal growth to help me build up my own self belief.

"Having gone through all that on a personal level, I now just want to help others by raising money for the Miscarriage Association.

"If anyone would like to join in the walk please feel free to do so. The more people that will be involved the bigger the impact."

Lisa's daughter Alysa will be joining the walk on her scooter and they are hoping to beat the total of £580 which was collected last year.

"I just want people who have been through experiences like I have to know they are not alone and that there is help available out there," Lisa added.

"I hope to raise awareness for miscarriages as well as help anyone else who is suffering."
