THERE'S a chance to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14, there will be the ideal opportunity for people to visit two local villages.

Residents in Cilcain, on Saturday, and Llandegla, on Sunday, are opening their garden gates to raise money for the National Garden Scheme and local charities.

Llandegla village lies on the banks of the River Alyn and nestles on the edge of the Clwydian Range, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).

It offers the visitor a truly old fashioned village welcome in the most picturesque area of the county.

In the pretty village of Cilcain, interested people are invited to enjoy six gardens.

Cilcain is an ancient village, lying beneath Moel Famau.

This village lies in the midst and commands an extensive range of the most beautiful scenery.

Teas will be served at both villages and the events will run between 11am and 5pm on both days.

For more information, pay a visit to ngs.org.uk, or go to Facebook and search for North East Wales NGS.

Alternatively, interested people can pick up a bright yellow leaflet in their local garden centre.
