A TALENTED athlete has been hitting the heights on the continent.
Eighteen-year-old Tom Wood, of Bodfari, who runs for the Eryri Harriers, recently competed in the Young Race Marathon du Mont Blanc 2019, in Chamonix, France.
The 15 km race, with a 1,200-metre climb, is for 18 and 19 year olds, and athletes between the ages of 20 and 23.
Although Tom, a member of Eryri Harriers, had little time to acclimatise to the very hot weather or the altitude, he was still placed sixth in his age category and 13th overall.
The field contained in excess of 70 international runners.
Tom also competed in the British Fell Running Championships in Snowdonia in May, where he became the Welsh male U-23 champion and he was second in the overall U-23 category.
