FURTHER tributes have been paid to a “kind and caring” dad who lost his life in a crash over the weekend.

Shaun Buckley was from the Prestatyn area. He had a partner named Hayley and was a father to two children and a step-father to Jordan.

The crash happened on the A548 Coast Road in Tan-Lan, near Holywell, and involved a Nissan Qashqai, towing a caravan and a flatbed recovery vehicle. Mr Buckley was the driver of flatbed recovery vehicle.

In a statement, the family said they were “truly devastated”.

“He was a much loved son, partner, dad, brother and friend. Words cannot describe the loss we feel,” they said. “Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the emergency services who fought so hard to save him. He will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.”

The Hideaway, a tapas bar in Prestatyn, had known Mr Buckley since February; he used to come in with his partner.

A spokesman for the venue said: “We at The Hideaway are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Shaun over the weekend.

“We haven’t known him long, in fact only since around February time when him and Hayley came for a Sunday lunch.

"We instantly connected with both her and Shaun and Hayley’s baby bump and Susie the dog and since then have spoke many times.

"Shaun, being the genuinely kind and caring man he was, helped fix our cars and spent his Father’s Day at the bar with his new baby and brought his eldest daughter - who he was so proud of - in for a drink only last week whilst Susie [his dog] sat under the table.

“Sometimes people come into our lives unexpectedly and make a genuine impression, Shaun was one of those people."
