THIS is the moment a smiling drug driver waved at police seconds after hitting an ambulance.
Adam Vaughan, who was yesterday jailed for 14 months by a judge at Bournemouth Crown Court, had taken cocaine and smoked cannabis before leading officers on a chase down a one-way street outside Christchurch Junior School.
His black VW Golf then hit an ambulance answering an emergency call.
The collision happened on the afternoon of February 20 in Fairmile Road, Christchurch.
Police have now released footage of the moment Vaughan hit the ambulance.
In the seconds after the collision, Vaughan, 32 and of Nursery Close, Hordle, Lymington, turns and smiles before waving at officers.
