HO, ho, ho!

Santa will visit the Rhug farm shop later this month to order his Christmas turkey.

Santa will be calling in at the Corwen shop on Thursday, July 25 while on his holiday in North Wales, to order his Rhug organic turkey for Christmas.

Understandably, staff are so excited with the news that they are planning to put their Christmas jumpers on... even though there’s still five months until Christmas Day!

Rhug Estate general manager Graham Webster couldn’t believe it when he received the call earlier this month from Father Christmas saying he was going to call in.

Father Christmas wouldn’t reveal where exactly in North Wales he was going on holidays, but he told Graham that he missed out on a Rhug organic turkey last year because he didn’t order in time, so he didn’t want to make the same mistake this year!

Mr Webster said: “It’s not everyday that you receive such a special phone call.

"I was delighted when Santa said he was going to spend time at our farm shop whilst in the area on holidays.

"We love celebrating Christmas here at Rhug so the staff didn’t take too much persuading to put their Christmas jumpers on to make our special visitor feel welcome.

"If you’re in the area next Thursday morning, July 25, we’re sure Santa wouldn’t mind if you wanted to pop along to the farm shop to see him, although it’s probably a bit early to bring your Christmas wish list with you – after all Santa is on holidays!”

Santa is calling in at the Farm Shop from 10am to order his Rhug Estate organic turkey and whilst visiting, he will have a masterclass on how to cook his organic turkey as well.

Rhug Organic Dee Valley bronze turkeys have self-basting properties under the skin.

As a result, they take approximately an hour less to cook than conventional supermarket turkeys.

London restaurants, including the Arts Club and the Four Seasons in Park Lane, feature Rhug organic turkey on their festive menu.

Rhug organic turkey and goose meat are also served in Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.

Celebrity Knightsbridge chef Marcus Wareing has been a loyal customer of the Rhug Estate for many years and every year, he offers his restaurant customers Rhug turkey and goose.

He said: “Christmas lunch is one of the most important meals of the year, at the restaurant and at home, I always want a Rhug organic goose and turkey.”
