A DRUNKEN holidaymaker threw a pint glass at a doorman, a court heard.
Appearing at North East Wales Magistrates’ Court, John McDonagh, 48, pleaded guilty to an assault charge following the incident which took place at Presthaven Sands Holiday Park in Prestatyn on July 4.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, said the victim, Christopher Standell, was working at the holiday park when McDonagh approached him at around 11.20pm shouting, before the defendant swung a punch which Mr Standell ducked.
McDonagh, of Riverside Caravan Park, Queensferry, then threw a three quarters full pint glass at Mr Standell which hit him on the arm but did not smash.
Huw Roberts, defending, said his client was a family man with four children who acted as a full time carer for his wife.
He was on holiday with family and friends and had mixed some medication he was taking with alcohol which Mr Roberts said was the cause of the incident.
Chair of the bench, Penny Rodgers fined McDonagh £120 and ordered him to pay Mr Standell £30 compensation. He will also pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.
